Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) is excited to provide free mending services in partnership with University Heights Center this October!

Bring up to 2 items for visible mending, patching, button sewing, and hemming. For hemming, artisans do not perform measurement intake; visitors will need to provide artisans with the desired inseam length. Measuring tape will be available for anyone that needs to measure themselves on site.

Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) is a local nonprofit that partners with refugee and immigrant women as they work to achieve economic stability. At RAI, artisans overcome barriers to employment through skills and micro business training while handcrafting goods from recycled materials. This innovative approach champions both equity and sustainability!
