Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) is excited to provide free mending services in partnership with University Heights Center this October!

Bring up to 2 items for visible mending, patching, button sewing, and hemming. For hemming, artisans do not perform measurement intake; visitors will need to provide artisans with the desired inseam length. A measuring tape will be available for anyone that needs to measure themselves on-site.

Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) is a local nonprofit that partners with refugee and immigrant women as they work to achieve economic stability. At RAI, artisans overcome barriers to employment through skills and micro-business training while handcrafting goods from recycled materials. This innovative approach champions both equity and sustainability!
